Emerge Refreshed!
The world seemed to be on hold for the last two years. Covid-19 has
earned its place in the history books. Now it's time to restart; to
emerge refreshed, like new buds in the spring landscape.

My first showing this year was in the Watercolor Society of Oregon
Spring Experimental Exhibit. "Bear Creek," was juried into the show and
received an Award of Distinction from Juror and nationally recognized
fine artist, Michael Holter.

Portland Art Museum Rental Sales Gallery kept up their good energy
through the tough times, selling pieces and calling on us artists for
replacements!
Speaking of spring landscape, Portland Alla Prima artists, including
me, took a Memorial Day* break to meet and paint en plein air on Sauvie
Island in the Columbia River.
We had typical Oregon spring weather: rain, sun, rain, wind, rain,
sun...repeat. Spirits were high, seeing friends after so much time
apart. We spread out on the dyke, and paint brushes flew across
canvasses, panels and papers. My value study is in progress below, and
I will share the color painting on Facebook and Instagram when finished.

*I would like to take one moment to thank each and every one who served
and/or sacrificed for their country. I am proud to include thanks to my
son, his father, and my brother, father, uncle, grandfather, great
grandfather, and dear girlfriend. And far too many friends to name. I
am honored to have known them all.
