Carefree Afternoon

My final painting in the Lake Oswego Plein Air 2016. My morning painting at the Farmers' Market was not turning out as I imagined (that will be a studio redo!). After a tasty lunch from a nearby cafe, I changed my subject focus. 

It was quite late for lunch, but a few people were still lingering, and even arriving for a mid-afternoon bite. I thought how easy and carefree their Saturday must be, thus the title and the carefree application of paint. I completely enjoyed the painting process, and hopefully that shows. This piece sold at the opening reception. I am grateful as ever for patrons of the arts.
